Weekend Results

At the Army 10-miler in Washington, DC, the Nike Fleet Feet Racing Team ran for Redstone Arsenal and made Huntsville proud.  Brandon York again lead the way with a blazing fast 50:44 which earned him 17th overall out of 30,100 runners.  Redstone One was also first overall in the all-comers division with a 5-man time of 3:55:01.

At the 9th annual Liz Hurley Ribbon Run 5km, Candace Jacobs took the top honors with an 18:22 and Kathy Youngren had a near personal best with a fast 19:04, earning second place overall. Katie Maehlman just a week off her personal best marathon, set a personal best in the 5km.  There were nearly 5,000 women running!

On the men's side Eric Charette ran 17:16 and earned 2nd place overall against a field of just under a 1,000 runners.  David Rawlings earned top honors as the men's master winner with an 18:51, reducing his personal best from by 51 seconds! David also finished 4th overall.

Weekend Results

The past two weekends have seen cooler temperatures as the fall racing season is now upon us in the Tennessee Valley.

On October 6 in Winchester, TN, Eric Charette was the overall winner of the Southern Tennessee Plunge Half Marathon with a time of 1:20:36 over a small field of 200 runners.

On Sunday October 7, David Rawlings finished with a 5:03:39 at the inagural Goosepond Island Half Distance Triathlon, placing him 47th overall and 7th in his age group.  Lisa Rawlings finished at 5:43:21 and was 5th in her age group.





Blake Thompson made the trek to Chattanooga where he ran Stump Jump 50km and finished with a time of 6:04:34. Christy Scott was close behind with a 6:17:59 placing her as 11th female overall.

This past Saturday atop Monte Sano at the Fleet Feet 15k, both Kathy Youngren (overall female) and David Rawlings (men's masters) captured state championship titles.  Overall, Brad Schroeder finished 2nd and Eric Charette took the final podium spot with 3rd place.  Helping out to volunteer from the racing team were Rob Youngren, Randy McFarland, Dink Taylor and Lisa Rawlings pacing with her marathon training group.

In Florence at the River Bottom Burnout 1-mile, Robert Whitaker also earned Alabama State Championship honors by taking the Men's Masters overall win with a time of 5:19.





In Baltimore at the Baltimore Running Festival, Katie and Rick Maehlmann both had tremendous races in the marathon.  Katie set a new personal record with a 3:12:31 (by 3 minutes!), placing 2nd in her age group,  14th female and 108th overall.  Rick ran a season best 3:16:10 and finished 133rd overall and was less than 90 seconds off of his personal best.

Weekend Results

George Heeschen took yet another overall win this past weekend, this time at the Elkmont Lions Club 10km.  His 35:35 earned him the top spot with Rob Youngren not far behind in 3rd overall.  Kathy Youngren was the overall female winner in 43:06.
