Brief Biography

I was born and raised an Air Force brat in Columbus, MS. I have two beautiful sisters, one older and one younger. All three of us were involved in different sports at young ages. One did ballet and eventually softball, while the other did gymnastics. I began my quest with running when I was in the 8th grade, which was somewhat of a "last resort" sport for me. Eventually, I was allowed an opportunity to run cross country, indoor and outdoor track on the collegiate level at The University of Alabama in Huntsville. While there, I also received a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. Upon graduating, I was fortunate enough to start a career working for a DoD government contractor in Huntsville, AL. I took two years off from running after college to focus on other things. After some soul searching, I decided that I needed to start running again. Since joining the Fleet Feet Racing Team in 2010, I have enjoyed getting to make new friends, volunteer my time, and run faster than I've ever run before. I look forward to the 2012.

A fun fact others might not know

I'm a decent cartoon impressionist (Bullwinkle, Kermit the Frog, Popeye, etc.). Also, I'm exactly one half Mexican.

How have you been an ambassador to the sport of running?

I try my best to be competitive at races that I enter and demonstrate a unique love for the sport of long distance running. When representing Fleet Feet, whether it be at races or in training, I try to help out anyway that I can, be friendly and courteous to those around me, obey race or local park rules, and be cheerful regardless of any circumstance.
